JUDAS

This made for television film tells the story of the great betrayer through the prism of his friendship with the Messiah and the politics of first century Palestine.

 

"Judas" is the final project of the late Father Ellwood "Bud" Kieser, C.S.P. - founder of the Humanitas Prize and Paulist Productions.

 

Starring in "Judas" are Johnathon Schaech ("That Thing You Do") as Judas, Jonathan Scarfe ("ER", "Gideon's Crossing") as Jesus, Tim Matheson ("West Wing") as Pilate, Bob Gunton ("Shawshank Redemption", "The Perfect Storm") as Caiaphas, Owen Teale as Flavius, Danny Scheinmann as Jeshura, Elliot Levey as Eliakim, Suzanne Bertish as Rohab, Mark Womack as Peter, Rory Kinnear as Andrew and Enzo Squillino Jr. as James.

 

"Judas" is executive-produced by multi-Emmy Award-winning writer/ producer Tom Fontana ("Homicide: Life on the Streets," "Oz") who also wrote the screenplay. Frank Desiderio, C.S.P., President of Paulist Productions, also serves as Executive Producer of the film. The film, under the Paulist Productions banner, is directed by Charles Robert Carner ("Christmas Rush", "Crossfire Trail", "Who Killed Atlanta's Children?", "The Fixer"). Ann Wingate is the producer. "Judas" is distributed by Paramount Network Television.

 

Shot in Morocco, a wonderfully skilled crew of Italian artists did the production design, costumes, make-up, hair and lighting. "Judas" originally aired on March 8, 2004 on ABC.
